E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!! I was tasked with turning Jason Kelce’s iconic parade day Mummers ensemble into an affordable homage to the Eagles LVII Super Bowl win. Working with the original costume designer was an unforgettable experience. The ensemble is constructed with fabrics laminated to poly-foam to create a structured fit. The use of micro dot, glitter gold silkscreening, and metallic trim transforms our demure Philadelphia die hard fans into tailgating Gods! It was a pleasure to bring my husband’s favorite team’s Super Bowl memories to life.
Rasta Imposta works with a number of companies to bring their visions to life. Chasing Fireflies is a favorite. Their higher end price point allows us to focus on whimsical designs for a specific market. I delight in seeing how they style and choose models for these special costumes.
Dolls Kill is a subversive creative company that encourages people to act out, go against the grain, and choose your own path. Scrolling through their online catalog is so inspiring on a personal level. The fact that they bought items from our Bob’s Burgers license is fantastic. The show is hilarious but the way they made each costume piece look effortlessly cool was super gratifying.
Accessories often push a “just okay” costume to the next level. Hand bags can be paired with many of the costumes I design, and provide much needed storage for costumes that traditionally do not have pockets. Designing handbags for the halloween market creates a unique challenge in that, the space for personal items is just as important as aesthetics.
